Hellraiser Framelock (Fullsize)
The Hellraiser
This is the fullsize version of the Hellraiser folder collaboration with Mechforce Knives. Each knife is made with a Titanium Framelock, 6AL4V Ti, VANAX Superclean Steel (3.80”) with all small parts and hardware also in Ti. Inlays are on both sides of the knife and they are all variations of Fatcarbon.
The Hellraiser was the first of my “Hell” series of handmade custom fixed blades, and my single most popular design. There are hundreds of custom Hellraiser Fixed blades out there in people’s collections. The distinctive blade profile sets it apart from all others. The Hellraiser is a Recurve Tanto with Harpoon.
The production folder is based on the Hellraiser V2, which had a few upgrades such as the pronounced forward finger choil in the blade, and the scale fronts morphed from the “Devil’s Tail” design to this “Devil’s Moon” crescent shape that we have replicated in the inlays wrapping around the pivot. And speaking of the pivot, the Titanium flat-faced pivot being used is a captive pivot, so it will not spin as you make adjustments to the backside hardware.
The ceramic detent gives the Hellraiser a distinct snappy flipping action and the ceramic bearings inside provide a silky smooth opening and closing. The flipper tab is carefully contoured for ergonomics, so that it never feels like a pain to repeatedly flip your knife over and over. I do that myself, so it was important to make this as easy on the finger as possible. You have a hidden lanyard post set within the backspacer that doesn’t take away from the clean lines of the front or back of the knife, and the flipper tab tucks in neatly behind the bolster area of the frame when the blade is open, so as to not be distracting either.
The Sculpted & Skeletonized Titanium Clip features the Begg Ball with permission by the creator, Todd Begg. I have long believed that Todd’s ball design is the best for retention without snagging, and luckily, I’m friends with Todd so he allowed me to borrow his design to make sure I had the best clip possible on the Hellraiser.
Please be aware that the BLACK/RED (Lava Flow Fatcarbon in Black frame) is the most limited variation at launch.
This collaboration is Manufactured by Mechforce who have had brilliant collaborations and award winning models with Tashi Bharucha (SOS), Rick Lala (Sentry) and AlphaHunter Design (Apocalypse). The production quality is Tier 1 and will be immediately recognized once held in the hand, even before opening the blade.
